MOVE IT Math™ is a professional development program for elementary school teachers of mathematics.
It is a math course in that it is based on five mathematical “keys” or essentials for understanding and lasting success in basic math— the arithmetic of work, business, and daily living. It is also a methods course on how to teach basic math because the strategies used to teach the keys to teachers are the very ones to use with children, virtually all children—those in need of remediation as well as those ready for enrichment and acceleration. It is thus a vital resource for parents, guardians, tutors—anyone helping children with their math—as well as elementary school aids and teachers.

MOVE IT Math is holistic and developmentally rich, super charging the arbitrary and fragmented nature of every textbook-based elementary school math program (like little numbers for little kids in grades 1-3, withholding multiplication and division until the end of grade 3, and no algebra until kids are “big enough to stand pain”) and avoiding the deprivation that occurs when children “don’t get it” and are made to repeat the same topics year after year. Important goals are self-confidence and self-esteem.
